In a bid to take some of the wind out of NVIDIA’s launch of the GTX 560 Ti graphics card released today, AMD has announced a new price list for their graphics card in the same sub $300 market. With the GTX 560 Ti launching at approximate $250, the card fills the gap between the high end $300+ GTX 570, and exceptional value focused GTX 460 at under $200.
AMD held this price point relatively unchallenged after the launch of their HD 6800 series, but NVIDIA’s juggling of the GTX 460 prices, and introduction of a full compliment of GTX 500 series has forced the company to get competitive.
The follow three cards will see new prices ($USD):
Radeon HD 6870 / $219 Radeon HD 6950 1GB / $259 Radeon HD 6950 2GB / $269 – $289 The Radeon HD 6950 1GB was only just announced last week at $279 USD, and a last second decision has seen the card drop in price $20, making it the closest competitor to the GTX 560. To see how the two fair against each other, read out review on the GTX 560 TI.
