here is my new overclocking venture ![]() i need to get this on water because i have had it to 3.8 on air but its runng way to hot and shutting down after a few minutes i try and load up cpuid to get a screen shot then poof its shuts down ![]() ![]() ![]() so i have this on a thermaltake cooler works ok but i think the frezzer pro 7 would be a beter bet if i were to keep it on air |

The freezer pro unfortunately may not get it much over where you are at that point. With my experience the Zalman 8750 (I think?). Got it to 4.0. I would water it for anything more than 3.8. Just for even with better air @ 4.0 it wouldn't be stable. |

But what vcore you running for 3.8 as well? I'm guessing 1.4v.. because I see it's 1.4v @ 3.0.. Just take you didn't set your vcore back when you went back to 3 Also did you try running a bit higher voltage @ 3.8 as well or is that where you stopped? |

very easy i think i could i am so restricted on what i can do now lol i have my tower stiing right in front of my AC unit with the case side ways and door off so it can cool it down works so far but @ 3.2-3.4 ghz its shutting down getting too hot i wonder if i can ihstall my pelt under my thermaltake Cpu heat sink ![]() if so then i can have -10 to -20 deg so i can run a benchmark i think i can crack 18-19k maybe 20k with this setup and single 9800gtx alot of people are going to doubt me on this but if i hit 4 ghz on my processor i can go up 6-7 thousand points on 3dmark the overall score |

Don't say it's stable till you do Prime 95 or orthos for a few hrs. Trying just games like crysis, etc. Your processor wont be stressed at all. IE: 100% So when you go to transcode any media your computer will BSOD on you. I'm not busting your balls. Just stating a stress test for a prolonged amount of time will let you know that your within a safe, long life area for your CPU. Thus mitigating any problems such as crashes or worse. |
