I'm not sure how to exactly move a topic.. but yeah.. so I've gotten this far with my new card in for 3dmark06 scores. Any suggestions on other benches to run be appreciated, or any tips. I'm using the armor series full tower w/ the big 250mm fan on the side. 2 120mm fans in the front, 1 in the back, and a smaller fan in the 2ndary psu space. Using a ZALMAN CNPS9500LED heatsink. Stock for my 2900xt, and soon to be a neon crab for my ram.. for show of course =3. So far I've attained these 3dmark06 scores. I haven't tweaked anything so far but the fsb frequency which is default 266 for the E6600. The (2008) is just an indicator for me to remember when I did them. Because I have benchmark with my 7900GTX, which Ill post below too =). But as you can see it gets unstable once you hit 3.42, I'm guessing it needs more voltage ? But I had someone tell me that my motherboard (P5B Wifi DLX AP) had some issues between 380-400, and that just over 400 would even things out.. which would be 3.6 I guess =) any thoughts? Also was wondering how do you find your default PCI-E frequency? is it always 100? and how does that effect your card... i've always wondered. Because you can turn up the cards clockspeeds to OC it, but whats the PCI-E freq do for it ? 3dmark06 (2008) default (266x9). 3dmark - 9865 SM2.0Score- 4413 HDR/SM3.0 Score - 4919 CPU Score: 2105 3dmark06(2008) 3.2ghz (365x9) 3dmark- 11289 SM2.0 Score- 4731 HDR/SM3.0 Score: 5301 CPU Score- 2884 3dmark06(2008) 3.42ghz (385x9) 3dmark - 7595 SM2.0 Score- 3642 HDR/SM3.0 Score- 2425 CPU Score: 3064 ........................................... ........................................... 1st OLD 3DMarks (default 266fsb (2.4ghz)) 3DMark-6089 SM2.0 Score -2580 HDR/SM3.0 Score -2482 CPU Score -2009 6th 3DMarks (3.42ghz) 3DMark -6608 SM2.0 score -2633 HDR/SM3.0 Score -2578 CPU Score - 2877 11th 3dMark (3.42ghz, PCI-E freq 105). 3DMark - 6497 SM2.0 score- 2602 HDR/SM3.0 Score-2508 CPU Score- 2925 ................. ................. 3dmark06(2008) 3.284 (365x9) (slight vga overclock) 3dmark- 11568 sm2.0 score-4875 hdr/smo3.0 score-5469 cpu score- 2898 2900XT 781 core memory 870. I've heard the memory can hit 1000 no problem. But I don't have the 8pin in, just 2 6's. So I don't know if I should really push it. 3dmark06(jan, 08/2008) 3.2ghz (365x9) 3dmark- 15649 SM2.0 Score- 5989 HDR/SM3.0 Score: 6853 CPU Score- 2898 Ran for 14hrs straight.. I found it quite the jump! Core memory 835, Memory itself 1001 |

The memory on my HD2900Pro will hit 1200MHz with a slight voltage bump for stability - that's not to say yours will also, but I did it with such a slight increase in voltage that I am fairly sure most cards should be able to attain these speeds with a very safe, modest increase in voltage. You can push it as far as you want, the worst thing that can happen is your system will hang and you will need to reboot. You will not damage a video card simply by pushing the clocks too far assuming you are not playing with the voltages. |
