With quality cooling you can push that 5200+ pretty friggin far. |

you'll run into clock humps, just pick wierd numbers sometimes instead of 300, 310, 320 etc, |

I see, Thanks for the info about the clock humps. Never really tryed to do a major OC before. On this Sempron im running a less than stock cooler. The old fan broke so i screwed a 60mm fan onto the old heatsink. How far do you guys think i can push my 5200+ with a AC Cooler 64 pro? ![]() [EDIT] My Mobo Just doesnt want to start at clocks over 325MHZ. Might be the ram at its limit or might be the cpu, since the clocks are linked. |

Too bad your OC is apparently wasted with Vista anyways lolz. |

Its not wasted. Im only running vista in preperation for my 4gb ram ill get when i buy the quad. Since i reformat almost 2 times a month why not get ready so i dont have to format again? And about that ram. It would be nice if i had some stuff that wouldnt limit my ocing:( I want to see if i can push my dual core to 3.7 ![]() ![]() Who wants to see some 5200+ OC'ed goodness? |

Just stating my opinion on how truly bad Vista is. Mojave, on the other hand, is a great OS. |

Lolz. That Mojave experiment commercial was extremly stupid. Vista isnt all that bad appart from some apps not working. In my opinion Windows Vista 64 is extremly better than XP 64. Also im still waiting for someone to recommend a cpu temp monitor. because i dont think me touching the heat sink to see if it burns me is a good indication. |

i use Everest for monitoring system temps also, which 5200+ will you be using? the 2.6ghz 2MB cache one (Windsor core) or the 2.7ghz 1MB cache one (Brisbane core)? i ask because i have a 5200+ Windsor and it's refused to post past 3.0ghz on two boards i've had. but at 2.9ghz it works fine even at stock voltage. |

Post subject: | |
I have the brisbane. But i think my older mobo was trying to detect it as a windsor, because on stock clocks it was 2.6 and then i had it oced to 2.9ghz for over 4 months. Ill keep you posted on what my 5200+ can do. |
