Ok so I record ALOT of game footage from various games I play. I run fraps on my 5850 and it doesn't really decrease performance for the most part. However, I know I can achieve a higher quality capture and lossless framerate if I used a tv tuner/capture card. Alot of people use these with older cards because their card has an s-video out and their tuner has an s-video in so they just patch them together.

I have no s-video or composite on my 5850. Therefore purchasing one of these capture cards would be pointless. Is there any way to connect the two?

So many have been pulled because I seek higher quality.

Here's one of my latest ones:

Also, in competition, you are required to record each and every match with fraps or wegame, and a skipped frame in competition means a dead Phonix...

Thought so. But I heard these only work with the older Radeons with AVIVO (x600, x800)

The DVI connects have both digitial and analog connections so DVI > VGA > S-Video > TV Card should work. You may have to trick the video card into detecting the capture card as a monitor though.

You can get HDMI to component cables as well and then use something like a PVR/DVR to record, but that's a more expensive route.
